From the very beginning of Forney’s history, we have believed in the importance of philanthropy. After practicing that belief, we have found when our community succeeds, we succeed. That’s why it’s a great day at Forney Industries when our company is able to give back.
In the past few months, Forney has been lucky enough to contribute several assets to some great causes in our community. Below is an update on all the philanthropy opportunities we’ve been lucky enough to take part in.
OCTOBER 2019

Adopt-A-Street
For the past several years, Forney Industries has made a commitment to The City of Fort Collins to clean up a stretch of road that runs in front of our Fort Collins headquarters three times annually.
Forney has honored that commitment and rids of trash and waste alongside that stretch of road. Each time, there are several bags that are collected and disposed of. This gives us the chance to bond with coworkers, keep our community clean and do a small part for the environment. In October, several employees from both Fort Collins locations got out on the street and participated in that event again.
NOVEMBER 2019

Workshops For Warriors Fundraiser
For the FABTECH expo this year, two Forney employees designed a metal tree to debut. When a patron would stop by Forney’s booth, they had the opportunity to cut out a metal leaf for the sculpture using Forney’s new plasma cutter. For every leaf cut, Forney vowed to donate money to the nonprofit, Workshops For Warriors. Workshops for Warriors is a state-licensed, board governed, fully audited 501(c)(3) nonprofit school that trains, certifies, and helps place Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and Transitioning Service Members into advanced manufacturing careers. Students earn nationally recognized portable and stackable credentials.
After FABTECH was over, Forney made a $1,000 donation to WFW.
Winter Gear Drive
November 11 through November 22, Forney employees participated in a coat drive for our community. All donations were given to Fort Collins Rescue Mission!
DECEMBER 2019

Glove Donation
In January 2020, The Fort Collins Rescue Mission received around 150 pairs of gloves. The gloves were donated on December 23, 2019 right before their Christmas Banquet. It was our hope to provide enough gloves to everyone in attendance, and we achieved that goal!
Adopt-A-Family
Forney understands that along with joy and good tidings, the holiday season can be very stressful for families in need. That’s why every year around the holidays, our company partners with the Adopt-a-Family program to make a real difference in the life of a special family. Our family for the 2019 season consisted of a Mom, Dad, and six kids aged 3 to 14!
JANUARY 2020

Tie Blankets for Larimer Humane Society
Forney began a new year of giving by gathering up employees to create tie blankets for our furry friends at the Larimer Humane Society in Fort Collins, Colorado. Forney had so many supplies for blankets, that some employees took the fabric home and continue their work!
Glove Donation
In January, around 50 pairs of lined work gloves were donated to Homeward Alliance. Homeward Alliance is an organization in Fort Collins, Colorado that strives to help families and individuals who face homelessness. This organization features a program called “Hand-Up:’ This program distributes “career gear” to any individual who is working with an agency or company to gain employment, or who has obtained a job but lacks the gear the job demands. The gloves Forney donated will be distributed to individuals who need them to be successfully employed.
Thank you to everyone who participated in these events and projects to help our local communities!
